Pruetnarin was summoned by NCPO but on the date he report himself an hour late from the time according to the order. After reported himself, Pruetnarin was held under military custody for 3 days before he was charged one of political accusation for the offense committed since 2012 
 
On 31 July 2014, The Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Court sentenced Pruetnarin to 13 years and 24 months in that case.

On 1 September 2017, Pruetnarin was released from prison after completed his prison term, his sentence was mitigated several time due to general royal pardon. Upon his release Pruetnarin was held under police custody once again because he had got an arrest warrant as he allegedly defied NCPO summon order. On 2 September 2017, the police brought Pruetnarin to the Bangkok Military Court to obtain pre-trail detention order. Pruetnarin was however released on bail after he deposit 30,000 Baht bail bond. On 16 October 2017, the military prosecutor filed a non prosecution order for this case.
