On 14 February 2018, a group of student from Chiang Mai University under the name "Liberal Assembly of Chiang Mai University for Democracy – LACMUD" organized a protest to call for an election in front of the university with about 100 participants. On the date there was neither incident nor arrest. 

A month later in March 2018, 6 participants were summoned by the police to acknowledge accusation under order of head of NCPO no. 3/2015 for committed a political gathering of 5 people and above. 

On 9 April 2018, the police handed case filed with prosecution order to the public prosecutor on 6 February 2019 even thought order no.3/2015 which was main accusation had been revoked.

On 18 March 2019, all defendant plea no guilty to charge under order of the head of NCPO no. 3/2015 but pleaded guilty for using amplifier without permission. 

On 29 March 2019, the Chiang Mai Municipal Court aquitted the defendant for defy order of the head of NCPO no. 3/2015 (12) but ordered to fine the defendants 100 Baht each for using amplifier without permission.
