Ekkachai, former lese majeste prisoner and a political activist was accused to committed offense under Computer-related Crime Act for importing obscenity information into computer system.

Facebook post according to the allegation was posted almost a year ago but the accusation was brought against him recently while he intensified his campaign on corruption scandal of the deputy-chairman of the NCPO.

The defendant was released on bail during the trial but later the court and the Court of Appeal considered that the content was obscenity and the defendant was guilty under Computer Crime Act. Ekkachai was sentenced for 1 year in prison without suspesion. He was sent to prison on 10 April 2022.
