Tanawat, a student of Chulalongkorn University and a social activist made announcement that he will organize activity Run Against Dictator for the first time on 28 November 2019. Detail with regard to the activity was later informed on Tanawat's facebook page afterward.
 
On 9 December 2019, Tanawat set to held press conference to officially launch the activity at the Foreign Correspondence Club (FCCT) but the event was later cancel. FCCT issued statement claimed that they were pressured by local police to cancel the leasing of the venue for this event. Tanawat later schedule for another place conference at Rattanakosin Hotel. The event was later cancel with a similar reason according to Run Against Dictatorship official Facebook page. Tanawat then moved to held press conference inside Thammasat University in the same day.
 
According to the organizer, the initial route of this activity was set to start at Thammasat University then go along Ratchadamnoen Road before heading back to Thammasat University. It was announced that the route need to be change, according to the official facebook page of the activity were pressured by authority to change the venue. The activity was change to be held inside the Vachirabenjatas Park.
 
Tanawat as organizer of this activity did not notify public assembly to the police as he see that this activity was sport activity, not public assembly. Run Against Dictator was held on 12 January 2020 without neither chaotic nor violence incident occurred. Tanawat was however received police summon to acknowledge accusation under Public Assembly act for not notify public assembly afterward.
