“Tonmai” and Pitch were accused of producing and distributing political satire calendar “The Special Royal Calendar.” The calendar was seen by authorities as offensive objects as it deemed to be an offense against the king.

The police obtain Tonmai’s address by purchasing calendars then tracking his address from the courier. The police managed to locate Tonmai’s address on 31 December 2020, they then filed a petition to the Talingchan Criminal Court to obtain a search warrant. The police conducted a search on the same day after they had a search warrant.

After the search, the police seized 174 copies of calendars then brought “Tonmai” to Nongkham Police Station for an interrogation. “Tonmai” was held at the police station until 2 January 2021 then the police brought him to Talingchan Criminal Court.

The police requested the court to remand “Tonmai” in custody, the court approved the police’s request but it also released “Tonmai” on bail after the MP. from  Move Forward Party used her position as guarantee to the court. 
 
Afterward, on 9 February 2021, Pitch who is another alleged offender was summoned to report to the police. Pitch went to report himself on 15 February 2021 the police released him on the same date after Pitch went to acknowledge the accusation.
