Volunteer

Freedom of Expression Documentation Centre.
The centre is looking for volunteers to perform the following support tasks: 
 
Observe and document freedom of expression violations.
Volunteers are required to observe and document cases about freedom of expression violations through the use of legal instruments by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) and / or Thai state. Examples of such cases are the arrest, imprisonment, summoning of individuals by law enforcement, blocking of websites and other forms of media censorship.

Volunteers will not receive pecuniary compensation for submitting reports.
 
 
Language translation.
Freedom of Expression Information Center operates a bilingual webpage. Our webpage aims to share and update news on freedom of expression violations in Thailand and in other countries in order to view civil rights violations comparatively. Thus, we are searching for volunteers to translate updates and articles for our webpage. Volunteers will be paid a compensation of 300 Baht per page and this amount may increase based on experience.
 
 
Fieldwork and observers.
The centre is searching for volunteers to observe and record court proceedings regards to freedom of expression violations in a systematic and detailed manner. Volunteer observers of these cases are required to have some basic understanding of due process in court proceedings and accurate note-taking techniques. Therefore, orientation and training might be necessary
